Reflection
Small talk is a bridge you don't always have to cross fully. For many introverts, brief social exchanges can deplete attention and patience; recognizing that is the first step toward gentle self-care.
Keep a few low-effort tactics ready: a friendly exit line, a time-based limit ("I have ten minutes now"), or a role you can step into that reduces pressure. Practice these aloud so they feel natural when used.
Boundaries are not walls but signposts that protect your energy and relationships. Offer them kindly, notice how your energy shifts, and give yourself quiet permission to recalibrate afterward.
