Begin with one simple change: choose a spot, reduce clutter, and add one comforting texture or light source. Attend to sound and signals—headphones, a closed door, a small sign, or a muted chat channel—to make the space reliably quiet. Keep decisions simple so the spot stays usable rather than becoming another task.

Maintain the space by treating it like a brief ritual: tidy when you leave, refresh a scent or a cushion, and rotate items so the corner continues to feel inviting. Communicate gently with housemates or colleagues about when the space is in use, and give yourself permission to return to it often for short, regular pauses.
