Focus on the senses: soft lighting, tactile textiles, and a simple seat with a small surface for a cup or notebook. Mitigate noise with rugs, soft furnishings, or a small white-noise source, and keep decor minimal so your mind can settle.

Anchor the space with a short ritual and clear cues for others in your home—like a folded blanket or a door sign—to protect the nook's purpose. Use short, regular visits rather than long, infrequent retreats to make the nook an effective, everyday refuge.
