Reflection
Boundaries are small, practical choices about where you place your attention and energy. For many introverts, wording those choices clearly and kindly keeps interactions smooth and reduces mental clutter.
Keep words brief, neutral, and specific so they land without drama. Try lines like: I need a moment; I can’t right now; I appreciate the invite, not this time; I’ll follow up later. A steady tone and a short pause do more than extra explanation.
Pair a phrase with a simple action—a calendar note, a quiet breath, or a gentle turn toward another task—to make it real. Practice the words privately until they feel natural, then use them when you need space or time.
