Micro boundary phrases are brief, clear statements you can use in the middle of a conversation to protect your time, attention, or comfort. For introverts they reduce the need for long explanations and let you remain composed while staying true to your limits.
Choose simple, neutral language you can say without thinking too much: for example, 'I need a moment,' 'Not today, thanks,' or 'I'm stepping away for a bit.' Keep the tone even and avoid over-justifying; a short, final line often communicates more kindly than an apologetic paragraph.
Build the habit by preparing a small list, practicing them aloud once or twice, and using the easiest phrase first in low-stakes moments. Over time these micro-boundaries become a quiet reflex that preserves energy and creates space without friction.
